How you answer could impact what happens to you, what decisions you make and even your mental wellness.
The logic behind it is simple, when you do that job change, relationship or any number of decisions. Are you taking that action because you not pleased with something, you don’t like something and want it gone. Or are you running towards something that is going to be exciting and a new chapter or adventure in your life.
This was a topic that has been circulating around recently and some recent chats made me want to explore it more. I don’t believe any decision is firmly rooted in one camp or the other. Generally a decision of this order will have a bit of both, but whatever the dominating theme is, it will have an impact and potentially what you attract.
Law Of Attraction
This is the theory that if we think about something or act in a certain way, we will attract more of that. If we are positive about something, then chances are you will interpret situations in a more positive light. Because you approach it positively, reactions will be positive and good situations may occur.
What we focus our energy on is important. If we are running towards a new job and look forward to meeting new people, learning new technologies, having more opportunities. Then these are more likely to happen.
If on the other hand we are running away from the previous job because there are certain elements that annoy, then you could be in for a shock. Because there is focus on this, there is a chance these same issues will occur over time as you still have the past in your mind, the reason you moved on.
It can be hard when that situation is stuck in our head. We have all heard of the expression of getting out of bed on the wrong side, then the rest of the day seems to go wrong. So how can we reset this view.
Be Present
There are multiple ways to overcome this, maybe some NLP or the like. One of the simplest ways is to mediate. I have discussed in the past around meditation, the act of 10 minutes can give you a reset on your mood and help how you are viewing the world. By placing the past in the past, you allow your mind to be free to focus on the present.
The past is in the past, you may learn from it, but that is it, let it stay there. The future also may cause worry but this has not happened yet, so why worry about something that may not happen.
Try this next time you have one of those days, where everything is going wrong and you can’t see to break out. Find 10 minutes, just 10 minutes and practice some meditation, there are plenty of apps out there to help.
What Do You Want
Still struggling to run towards that thing? What about having a think about what you do want rather than what you don’t want. As humans I think we can be a little cautious of what could happen, human nature I believe. Have a think of what could happen, that actually this thing could be incredible and one of the best moments of your life. You never know, it just may be.
- You can attract situations and events, not all of the time, but be mindful that you can impact this
- When situations happen, try and be present, it will reset your mind
- Sometimes a focus on what you do want rather than what you don’t can make all the difference
Keep on running towards your dreams, with enough energy and determination, you’ll make it.
